    Fused switch

    Get PDF
An electric switch device is described which can be used safely even in an explosive environment. The switch has an operating arm, and a moveable actuator which is engaged by the arm and moved between a number of positions in which the arm opens or closes the switch. A fuse is slidably positioned in a passage through the actuator. The fuse can be replaced in the passage by another fuse when the actuator is in one of its many positions. The device is lightweight and compact, is capable of withstanding severe shock, and is not adversely affected by extremes of temperature

Single connector provides safety fuses for multiple lines

Fuse-bearing sleeve which is inserted between the male and female members of a multiple-line connector contains a safety fuse for each pin of the connector assembly. The sleeve is easily and quickly opened for fuse replacement

Exceptional solutions to the eight-vertex model and integrability of anisotropic extensions of massive fermionic models

We consider several anisotropic extensions of the Belavin model, and show that integrability holds also for the massive case for some specific relations between the coupling constants. This is done by relating the S-matrix factorization property to the exceptional solutions of the eight-vertex model. The relation of exceptional solutions to the XXZ and six-vertex models is also shown

Is consumption growth consistent with intertemporal optimization? evidence from the consumer expenditure survey

    Get PDF
In this paper we show that some of the predictions of models of consumer intertemporal optimization are in line with the patterns of nondurable expenditure observed in U.S. household-level data. We propose a flexible specification of preferences that allows multiple commodities and yields empirically tractable equations. We estimate preference parameters using the only U.S. micro data set with complete consumption information. We show that previous rejections can be explained by the simplifying assumptions made in previous studies. We also show that results obtained using good consumption or aggregate data can be misleading
